SUBZERO TREATING OF STEEL – THE OLD AND NEW TECHNOLOGY
Part.2. Application of the cryogenic treatment

SUMMARY
In the present, 2nd part of the paper, (1st part has been published in Inżynieria Powierzchni no. 4, 2005) ex-amples of published results of cryogenic treatment are reported, as they generally manifest themselves by pro-longed service life of the steel products most frequently subjected to the cryogenic process: tools, vehicle ele-ments, and small arms. The cold and cryogenic treatment is mentioned which is performed in a specialistic cryogenic processor as an add-on to other thermal and thermochemical treatments carried out at Heat Treat-ment Centre, Institute of Precision Mechanics, Warsaw, Poland.

Keywords
