SUMMARY
The activity of the Institute of Precision Mechanics toward limitation of economic effects of corrosion since the beginning of its creation up to the present day is presented. The range of research and implementation works of the Institute is shortly described. The main reasons
of creation at the Institute of the Corrosion Centre are given. The realization and results of the ordered research project PBZ 013-12
and the related works together with works realized in the frame of Competence Centre CORPROT are presented. The scope of research works and services offered by individual departments of the Institute dealing with corrosion protection problems and IMP’s proposals concerning the necessary actions in this field are given.
