SUMMARY
The following activities come into paint inspector duties: inspection of building site preparation, checking of the range and quality of the execution of corrosion protection work and finding solution for many problems which can occur during the realization of work. Durability
of the corrosion protection work performed and punctual completion of works depend considerably on the level of inspector knowledge, his capabilities and equipment. Because of the wide range of inspector duties there is required a good professional education confirmed with the authority certificate. The paint inspector courses and examinations are organized in the USA and Europe (for example NACE in USA, RFOSIO in Norway, ZCP IBDiM and IMP in Poland). The majority of polish inspectors do not have authority certificates yet. There is a great need to popularize of inspector training to obtain certificates and to employ certified inspectors for supervision of corrosion works.
Polish law regulations for employing paint inspectors are also presented.
