SUMMARY
Although one of the most efficient corrosion protection of steel structures is provided by means of zinc coatings, three main technologies of coatings formation: hot-dip galvanising, electroplating and thermal spraying require a modification leading to lower consumption of raw materials, reduction of waste and emission of chemical substances to the environment and decrease of energy consumption. At the same time the efforts concerning increase of coatings durability have to be undertaken. Under these assumptions an international project titled „21st Century Galvanised Steels” is proposed.
