SUMMARY
This paper presents simple and cheap technology of production of hard carbide diffusion layers on steels
with powder method. The main process proceeds in powder mixture in furnace with open retort at the temperature
of 1000 °C during 6 hour. The powder consists in 60% of ferroalloy or ferroalloy metallic mixture to create
carbides, in 39,5 % of kaolin and in 0,5% of ammonium chloride. Carbides layers, which are strongly connected
to steel bed are obtained and depending on composition of metallic mixture they have various potential and
exploitation proprieties. The carbides layers are created on tools and on machine elements, which are endanger
on abrasive wear during exploitation.
