SUMMARY
In this paper the influence of the structure of borided layer and of the type of heat treatment on the properties
of borided 41Cr4 and C45 steels has been presented. The effects of the typical heat treatment (hardening
and tempering) and laser heat treatment have been compared. The microhardness, fracture toughness and
friction wear resistance on boronized steels have been determined. The laser heat treatment reduces the wear
of borided layers in comparison with typical heat treatment.
